Catching Up?
The reason the title of this post is a question is because I’m not even sure what catching up means in these crazy times. There’s not much to “catch up” on in the year 2020 when I feel like I’m being kept prisoner by dual jailers, Covid 19 and my own health issue PNH! π³ This picture of my dog Charlie is a good metaphor for how my life has been going. π
I ended my last post with “what’s next?” because we’re living in such uncertain times. I said first the election and thank God Trump was voted out of office. I honestly don’t think our democratic way of life would have survived another year under that fool. I honestly believe that he is certifiably mentally ill.
With the big holidays that I have always looked forward to coming up I knew I needed an attitude adjustment and need to go back to finding positive things. I looked harder for beauty in nature and even in a PNW wet period it’s still there.
I talked with my sister and made sure we planned a Thanksgiving dinner this year. I was invited to Smitty’s again but decided we needed to do something here. We had a pleasant Thanksgiving meal and even Gregg came. And it made for a great lunch the next day. π
I even put my Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving this year and pulled out decorations that I haven’t used since 2010 in Colorado. With the cloudy days we’ve had the tree stays plugged in creates a nice feel.
I also bought myself a crockpot and fixed a pot roast. I didn’t bother with a big one before since I only cook for one but decided I’d just make things I like with good leftovers in mind.
Now I guess it’s wait and see what’s down the road between now and the end of the year. Hopefully a vaccine sooner than later.
